Félix Lajkó

Often referred to as the Devil’s Violinist, the Paganini of Voivodina, or a child prodigy, once he is on stage with an instrument – be it the violin or the zither – Lajkó is capable of doing anything, of guarding his audience to a world that opens up only to those born with a special talent. Félix Lajkó handles music rather impulsively. There is no need to define the style or genre of his...More »

Félix Lajkó: Infinty

Bar code: 5998048535521
FA 355-2
2014

“Lajkó’s playing style is careening and otherwise not known for being inhibited – but when put together with this symphony orchestra it is as if every emotional and emphasized moment gets its own visual confirmation…new versions of known songs are on the record, such as Csárdás, a Bokorból, El Cavillo, or Mező. This album doesn’t give out its essence all at once – but one can fall deeply and seriously in love with it.” (langologitarok.hu)

On Félix Lajkó’s record entitled INFINITY with the Budafok Dohnányi Orchestra – we hear the symphony named “Infinity” which they created together. “Infinity” fulfills and multiplies musical dimensions. Félix had for a long time dreamt of working together with a large orchestra. In the spring of 2013 he began working with the Budafok Dohnányi Orchestra. Their numerous projects together have culminated in this recording. The recording was released on Félix Lajkó’s 40th birthday on February 28th, 2014 at an event called the Félix Lajkó Marathon concert held at Budapest’s Palace of the Arts.

Félix Lajkó has always been one of those musicians with the extraordinary ability to connect with the soul. His instrument is like a conduit between him and the outside world. No matter what challenge he takes on or who joins him on the stage, the result is always crystal clear: instinctive and visceral music straight from the soul, fed by some deep, unknown force.
The Budafok Dohnányi Orchestra is one of Hungary’s leading professional orchestras.

Thanks to their enthusiasm, youth, charismatic music and Liszt Award winning director and conductor, Gábor Hollerung, the orchestra has quickly gained recognition and success both in Hungary and abroad.

Physical worldwide distribution for this record is handled by Hangvető. It is available digitally on: ITunes, Amazon, Spotify, Deezer, etc.
